MONGOLIAN SOLITAR

TUESDAY, APRIL 20, 2010 Last week I went in to Tokyo Japanese Steakhouse, a Japanese/Teppanyaki/Sushi restaurant on Main Street in Lehi. They have a two for the price of one sushi deal every Monday thru Thursday from one to four p.m. (If I remember the details correctly.) I sat down at the sushi bar in front of a tall stocky Asian man and ordered four sushi rolls. We started talking. He came here from Mongolia to go to school and stayed. He went to school at the “U” if I remember correctly. When he discovered I was retired, he asked what I do with my spare time. Including jogging in the pool etc, I mentioned I play a little solitary on the computer. He laughed and said that invariably when he texts his father back in Mongolia and asks him what he has been doing, his father tells him he has been playing solitary on the computer. Things seem to be the same in all the little corners of the world. I guess I shouldn’t be surprised that little old men even in Mongolia know how to text on their cell phones and have computers they play games on.
