GUILT TRIP

Friday, August 06, 2010 Today I am watching Jayden and Bailey because Stacey is working. Bailey set up the Monopoly game and we played awhile until silliness took over. I asked the kids to help put it away. Bailey, in a flippant tone of voice kicked the money and deed cards around and said, “It’s Grandpa’s game. He’ll take care of it.” Later Jayden came in and said. “Don’t put this on Facebook or your blog, but, my friend Trent put his Spiderman game in my PSP and it is rated “M” (for mature) which I am not allowed to play. I started playing it anyway and now I am addicted. (paraphrased) “I can’t stand the guilt. (said in a joking tone of voice, yet serious.) “Grandpa can I borrow your phone so I can tell my dad?” He took my phone, went into the other room, called Corey and came back into the room with a relieved smile on his face. Later Corey received an e-mail from Coach Snow asking if he would be Jayden’s assistant football coach. He had mixed feelings because he wanted to be able to go to Bailey’s soccer games too. I took the kids home around 2:00 p.m. so we could let Buddy out to do his thing. Later this evening when Corey got home, he announced that he was officially Jayden’s assistant coach. I’ll have to ask him about how that will affect going to Bailey’s games.
