PIONEER DAY CONCERT

SATURDAY, JULY 18, 2009 Last night Judy, Austin, Molly and I went to the Conference Center for the Pioneer Day Mormon Tabernacle Choir & Orchestra at Temple Square Concert. It was more a commemoration of the Tabernacle Choir having been on the air for eighty years. The second song they sang was Come, Come, ye Saints one hymn I always bawl through and have done so for as long as I can remember. Ever since my sweet mother got me hooked on genealogy when I was fourteen and having read and reread all my ancestors pioneer hardship stories I have felt a strong kinship to them and in my mind will always have a deep abiding love for the Mormon Pioneers. Things went downhill from there and I cried for an hour and a half. The PIONEER thing and a love of the Lord and the gospel did it last night! I am crying again as we speak. The following is the program: “Mormon Tabernacle Choir and Orchestra at Temple Square Pioneer Day Commemoration Concert celebrating the 80th anniversary of Music & The Spoken Word.
